I have seen love as lightening,
Cried like thunder,
Crashed over mountains to bring down rain,
Heaved over oceans, ripped asunder,
Left bleeding, sand on my knees.
Love as a tree is always stronger,
Bending supple, lasting longer,
Quiet strength reaching downward,
Grasp the earth between it’s feet,
It does not cry out,
But ties the earth to heaven with its leaves.
